Sick children in the Goulburn Valley will benefit thanks to the support of their local communities through the Woolworths Fresh Food Kids Hospital Appeal.
A donation of $7530.55 was handed over to Goulburn Valley Health last week after Woolworths supermarkets across Australia ran community fundraising events for the appeal.
The Safeway supermarket in Archer St, Shepparton raised money for the hospital through a number of activities including barbecues and raffles.
Goulburn Valley Health patient and community liaison officer Jan Phillips said the hospital was grateful to Woolworths for its continued support and thanked the Goulburn Valley community for getting behind the appeal.
``Goulburn Valley Health is delighted with a number of things associated with this appeal; it helps our children's ward considerably, it benefits kids within our region, it provides equipment that we could not otherwise afford and it supports healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle,'' she said.
This year the donation will be spent on high-tech monitoring equipment for the hospital's children's ward.
Woolworths area manager John Berreen thanked the Shepparton store customers who have helped raise the money.
``A very special thankyou to all the Woolworths staff who have all worked hard and donated their time and own money to help achieve this great result,'' he said.
